Samsung 16GB EVO Class 10 Micro SDHC MB-MP16DA/AM Review

Image
In the package, it includes the SD card package and microsd. It's class 10 microsd so it should read and write about 10mb, but this little guy is speed demon. We know there are only two manufacturers of ssd memory it's Micron and Samsung. Samsung is unmatched in speed and quality. This card reads 23mb and writes at 15mb. This guy is faster than my old school magnetic spindle hard drive.  Samsung EVO Class 10 with Crystal Mark Disk Score Sequential Read : 23.568 MB/s Sequential Write : 16.343 MB/s Random Read 512KB : 23.056 MB/s Random Write 512KB : 21.477 MB/s Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 6.702 MB/s [ 1636.2 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 1.609 MB/s [ 392.8 IOPS] Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 7.376 MB/s [ 1800.8 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 1.389 MB/s [ 339.2 IOPS] I use this little guy in yi cam and I have not had any issues with it. I recommend it to anyone who wants it for the action camera or cell phone because it's blazing fast.  Check out

Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch Review

Image
I was torn between the three smart watch offerings from Samsung. I liked the refined look of the Gear 2 but I would never use the camera when my phone has a much better one. I liked the look of the Gear Fit but it didn't have enough of the functionality I wanted and the reviews are not so good. The Gear Neo fit my desires and the price was acceptable. Things I like: - The Built-In MP3 player. I hate wearing an arm-band at the gym. With the Neo and my BT headphones I have all I need. - The email and txt notifications - Using it to talk on the phone. It actually works quite well - The pedometer and fitness tracking options - The customizing options of the home screens - The battery last about 3 days in normal use - The sleep monitor Things I don't like - The charging cradle. It seems like there is enough real-estate to use a standard plug. - Not being able to add manual entries to the fitness log (this is a general S-Health issue) - The wristband is a lit

1000 Grit and 6000 Grit Japanese Knife Sharpener Review

Image
Japanese Knife Sharpener Review This wet stone is great for typical knife sharpening and polishing maintenance. It is especially good if you have a great set of knives that you want to maintain, like Henckels, Wusthof, Shun, etc. First soak in water for 5 minutes before using it to sharp the particles is what helps the knife get sharp. For typical knife sharpening maintenance, you first sharpen on the 1000 grit side, followed by some honing & polishing on the 6000 grit side. Alternatively, you can skip the 6000 grit side and hone the knife on your steel rod instead. However, the 6000 grit gives the knife blade a polish that cannot be matched by the rod. Note that this stone will not fix damaged knife blades. This stone is also not good for dull knives; I recommend sharpening a dull knife on 240 grit first, followed by sharpening on 1000 grit, then a hone & polish on 6000 grit (or hone on your steel sharpening rod). If you are not concerned with polishing y

GoPro HERO3: White Edition Review

Image
GoPro HERO3: White Edition Review I bought this for three reasons, the first being to film my newborn daughter on the go, the second to film my upcoming trip to China, and the third videos for my youtube channel. After much research, I chose the GoPro White Edition for a couple of reasons. First and foremost the price. You can't get better video quality and versatility for under 200 dollars. The 1080p video is crisp and smooth and the audio is better than expected. Iv had it for about a month and these are the pros and cons I have discovered. PROS Crisp smooth video quality. PRICE Nice time lapse mode Easy to use. Nearly Indestructible Can be pulled out and start filming at a seconds notice. CONS Battery Life Expensive mounts

Apple MacBook Air MJVE2LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop Review

Image
Apple MacBook Air MJVE2LL/A Review Technical Specs: 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 2.7 GHz) with 3 MB shared L3 cache 4 GB of 1600 MHz LPDDR3 RAM; 128 GB PCIe-based flash storage 13.3-Inch (diagonal) LED-backlit Glossy Widescreen Display, 1440 x 900 resolution Intel HD Graphics 6000 OS X Yosemite, Up to 12 Hours of Battery Life Since I was 15, I've always had Windows laptops. They've all had problems after about a year of use... they start to slow down- they were a magnet for viruses because it didn't matter what antivirus software I used, I still had viruses or SOMETHING that was slowing down my pc's. It was the same thing over and over- each pc laptop lasted on average in good quality about 2-3 years and then I would have to throw it away or give it away. Heck, even the window's pc laptop batteries went to crap after a year or so.... I couldn't even leave home without the charger or I knew I would be screwed royally w

Apple Mac Mini MGEN2LL/A Desktop Review

Image
Apple Mac Mini MGEN2LL/A  Desktop  Review I don't know what all the fuss was about. I guess that over the year, Mac Mini has created a cult with devoted followers and people viewed this as a betrayal by Apple. This is my first Mac Mini, but I have been a Mac user for a long time. I have a couple of Macbook Pros, include an old 17"MBP that I bought back in 2006 and it is still going, even though there has been no software upgrade for a long time. The Mac Mini is larger in real life than I expected. It is a box about 7" square and 1" thick. Small foot-print on your desk, but packs so much power! Running very cool too, almost no heat generated from it. Some would suggest you search Amazon or Apple stores for older but more powerful models, but then you'd really miss out on new features such as 2 thunderbolts, 4 USB 3.0 ports and Intel Iris graphic processor.. To me, these are the features worth upgrading for. You may have more processing power in the old

V-MODA Crossfade M-100 Over-Ear Noise-Isolating Metal Headphone Review

Image
Vmoda Noise Canceling Headphones REVIEW Let me preface this review by saying that I'm by no means an audiophile. I am writing this review to help others out there who may be trying to decide how to spend their hard earned cash on "cool" headphones. With that said, I will be comparing these headphones with the Beats by Dre Studios. Why? Well, because these two models may appeal to the same demographic--people trying to spend a little extra money on quality, stylish headphones for their portable device. To give you a little back story, I travel a lot and need something I can wear on long flights. I saw the Beats Studios at Best Buy and liked the look. I like Dr Dre music and decided that if he endorsed this product it must be good, right (it looks a lot more naive in print form)? I did a little research on the Beats and read reviews on Amazon and CNET. Most of the negative reviews were due to the inflated price, but the CNET Editors and many folks on Amazon liked th

How to Deal With Internet Trolls ?

Image
How to Deal with Internet Trolls ? An internet troll is a person who seeks out to argue with people extremely trivial issues. I call them h8ters. Haters are going to hate. The easiest way to handle the situation is to block them. If it's life threat. I would call the authorities. Do not a troll ruin your day. Block them immediately and walk away. Trolls are the worst. Haters are the worst. If your a nice person and give them a chance. You can ask them to please stop. If they don't second strike would be to ignore them. Third strike is absolute ban and block hammer. To sum up everything: Ask them to stop If they continue, ignore them If they don't stop, block them That is how you deal with internet bullies and trolls .

Xiaomi Yi Action Camera REVIEW

Image
BASIC INFO Records videos at up to 1080p 60fps and captures photos up to 16MP. There is an app that you can download to connect to the camera to change settings or remotely photograph/record. Some parts of the app are in Chinese and some are in English. It does not appear to be water-proof without a separate water-proof case. There doesn't seem to be a geo-tag feature. The unit weighs 68.8g with battery installed. I tried setting it on my car's dash without any mounts to try it out as dash cam, here are my samples:  List of available video resolutions: 1920x1080 60P 16:9 1920x1080 30P 16:9 1920x1080 48P 16:9 1920x1080 24P 16:9 1920x960 60P 16:9 1920x960 48P 16:9 1920x720 60P 16:9 1920x720 48P 16:9 1920x720 120P 16:9 848x480 240P 16:9 List of available photo resolutions: 16M (4608x3456 4:3) 13M (4128x3096 4:3) 8M (3264x2448 4:3) 5M (2560x1920 4:3) Default wide angle on landscape view at middle: 122° Rectified angle on landscape view at middle: 95° Get
